The Martha's Vineyard Youth Hockey Association (MVYH) is fostering a positive, inclusive environment that prioritizes child development and life skills over mere competition.

The MV Youth Hockey Program aims to achieve the following:

• Physical Development: To provide a fantastic cardiovascular workout that improves speed, coordination, and gross motor skills.
• Character Building: To instill the value of teamwork and cooperation. Children learn to rely on teammates, fostering trust, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
• Mental Agility: To help children develop the ability to cope with fast-paced changes and split-second decision-making.
• Inclusive Accessibility: As a non-profit, the organization is dedicated to providing all children with the opportunity to play, offering financial assistance and used equipment loans to ensure hockey is accessible to the entire Island community.
• Skill-Based Progression: To place children in environments that match their ability as well as to build confidence and prevent discouragement.
• Lifelong Interest: To create a fun and non-competitive atmosphere for younger players, specifically in the Mite program, to encourage a lifelong love of the sport.

We are hosting our 37th Annual Golf tournament at the Edgartown Golf Club on Saturday May 30th, 2026.

The golf tournament is our primary fundraiser that allows us to keep costs lower than other programs and give need-based scholarships to family’s who have trouble affording the sport.  The event brings the island community together to support local players. The association is currently seeking sponsors (Gold, Silver, and Major levels) and door prizes.
